How to Copy Trades Between Your Own Accounts with WeCore

A light guide to copying trades between accounts you own in WeCore: pick a leader, add followers, size each account, apply risk rules and check each prop firm's policy first.

Traders who hold several accounts, for example several prop firm accounts, quickly find that placing the same trade by hand in each one is slow and error-prone. A trade copier solves this: a trade in one account is replicated to the others. This guide explains, at a conceptual level, how to do it in WeCore and what to watch out for.

Screen names may change, so the steps refer to areas of the app.

First of all: are you allowed to copy?

This is the first question, and it comes before any technical setting.

  • Copying only between your own accounts. In WeCore, copying is allowed only between accounts you own or are lawfully authorized to trade.
  • The prop firm's policy. Firms treat trade copying differently: some allow copying between the same trader's accounts, some restrict it, and some prohibit certain third-party software. Sometimes there is also a difference between the evaluation stage and the funded account.
  • Copying across different firms. If your accounts are at several firms, check each firm's policy separately.

The only way to know is to read each firm's official help center and terms of use, and if in doubt, ask their support. Breaking such rules can cost you the account or the profits. General background is in the guide to copy trading across accounts.

Step 1: Connect all the accounts

In the connections area, connect every account that will take part, both the leader and the followers. You can combine Rithmic-based accounts and ProjectX (TopstepX) based accounts.

Set and save risk rules for each account. Every new account starts in simulation mode and does not move to real trading until its rules have been saved. For the settings themselves there is a separate guide to setting risk limits in WeCore.

Step 2: Create a copy group and choose a leader

In the copy trading area, create a copy group. Each group copies from one source:

  • A leader account - every trade on this account is copied to the followers. That includes trades placed outside WeCore, for example from another trading platform connected to the same account. Followers mirror the leader's position: open, add, partial close, reverse and full close.
  • A strategy - the source can also be a strategy, in which case its signals are executed on every account in the group.

Each group shows its connection status and the last copied trade, so it is easy to see that it is active.

The number of follower accounts depends on your plan.

Step 3: Add followers and set the size per account

For each follower account you choose how size is calculated:

  • Mirror - the same number of contracts as the leader. This is the default.
  • Fixed quantity - a fixed number of contracts per trade, regardless of the leader's size.
  • Ratio - a multiplier relative to the leader's size.

There is also an option to reverse the direction for followers, but most traders do not need it, and it is worth understanding the consequences well before using it.

How to choose size? Think about each account separately. An account with a smaller drawdown probably needs a smaller size. A hypothetical example: if the leader trades 2 MNQ contracts and one follower is much smaller, a fixed quantity of one contract may be appropriate for it. Background on multiple accounts is in the guide to scaling prop firm accounts.

Step 4: Risk rules for each account

Copying multiplies not just trades but risk. If every account takes the same trade, one loss happens in all of them at the same moment.

So:

  • Each follower account needs its own risk rules, matched to that account's rules at the prop firm.
  • Daily loss is measured per account, so a limit on one account does not protect another.
  • Set a max position size on each follower, so a mistake in a ratio does not lead to an oversized position.

Step 5: Know the group actions

A copy group has safety actions that apply to all its accounts at once: flatten all, cancel all orders, and move the stop to breakeven on all of them.

It is important to know that these actions are actually executed even when an account is in simulation mode, because they only reduce risk. They are recorded as real orders. Get to know them before you need them.

Step 6: Start in simulation

Keep the followers in simulation mode at first and check:

  • Did every leader trade appear on every follower?
  • Were the sizes calculated as you expected?
  • Were exits, partial closes and stop moves copied correctly?
  • Did the risk rules block anything on one of the accounts?

Even after moving to real accounts, remember that fills, prices and quantities can differ slightly between accounts. That is normal, and worth following in the logs. More on execution is in the guide to slippage and execution costs.

Short checklist

  • I checked the copy trading and automation policy of each prop firm.
  • All the accounts are mine, and I am authorized to trade all of them.
  • Every account has saved risk rules.
  • The size for each follower was chosen according to that account's rules.
  • The group ran in simulation without surprises.
  • I know where the group's safety actions are.

Key takeaways

  • Copying is allowed only between your own accounts, and subject to each prop firm's policy.
  • A group copies from a leader account or a strategy to follower accounts.
  • Size is set per follower: mirror, fixed quantity or ratio.
  • Copying multiplies risk too, so every account needs its own risk rules.
  • Start in simulation and follow execution on each account.

WeCore can copy trades between your accounts and apply risk rules to each of them. The careful first step is to check the firms' policies, build a small group and let it run in simulation mode.
